Course Profile: Recruitment and Selection (2 days)

This two day workshop is specifically designed for staff who have the responsibility for recruiting staff. The course aims to familiarise staff with equal opportunities legislation, their organisational policy and recruitment procedure. The workshop forms the basis for a corporate and systematic approach to recruitment and selection.

  • Using a Personnel Specification to short list against candidates application forms

  • The selection interview; skills
  • Questioning techniques as a means of gaining evidence of the level of knowledge, skills, experience and abilities candidates have
  • Assessing to what extent they meet the requirements of the Personnel Specification
  • Preparing, conducting and assessing the effectiveness of a selection interview
  • What is expected from them as members of an interview panel
