Course profile: Mental Health Awareness (1-3 days)

Many Social Care Staff deal with service users who have mental health needs. This 3 day course briefly covers the history and development of mental health services in this country. It focuses on the classification of mental illness , the signs and symptoms of mental ill health, medication and other treatments available. Approaches to supporting service users in a social care settings are explored
